10 inch 'Crosscut' or 'Great American' file

For big-tooth saws with a pitch of 2 or less teeth per inch e.g. saws over 36 inches long or our other product Peg tooth saw blank 2 points per inch. Because the file is single cut it leaves the tooth smooth in contrast to aggressive double cut files which leave grooves in the tooth-face.

The rounded back of the 10 inch file deepens gullets 10mm width. You get great control with the narrow cross-section of 27deg because you remove metal from only ONE single tooth. Conventional 60deg triangular files must touch TWO teeth at once and so these force you to look at two places at once.
