Bettina Lutzke has been working as a qualified art conservator of objects made of wood and modern materials for over 20 years. In addition to the conservation of art objects, she is fundamentally enthusiastic about wood as a material, so much so that she discovered a passion for spoon carving more than 20 years ago.

Creating a coherent, stable wooden connection from two parts without glue and only with the power of nature was particularly fascinating and brought her to making shrink pots.

Many shrink pots later, this instruction booklet came into being. It is intended to give interested people and her workshop participants the opportunity to make shrink pots themselves and independently, and to provide an introduction and guidance for beginners.
