The Wood Tools carving axe is the perfect axe for someone starting the hobby of wood carving work or for teachers who want large numbers for courses.
They come sharp and ready to use. The heads are ground and honed by Robin Wood and his team, who are now the last professional wheel grinders in Sheffield, then a final polish and checks made by before being made ready to ship.
The hickory handles are made in the UK to Robin's design, and have a good grippy knurled finish and are treated with linseed oil.
The weight of the head is 500g and the total weight 760g (1lb 11oz), handle length is 13.5″ (34cm). This is a good weight and size of axe that most people can use easily without getting tired but is still heavy enough to remove wood quickly.
